Interesting trail for those who like typical Dolomite landscapes and for those who’d like discover the small villages where the local people live. From Arabba, reach the hamlet of Varda (about 1 km), and at the end of the village, take the path leading to the hamlet of Cherz through a pine wood. Leaving the hamlet of Masarei on the right, one reaches a mule track which divides soon after: on the right one gets to Cherz, on the left one goes up a dirt road which takes to the Viza meadows. There it is possible to stop in one of the refuges or to walk on uphill to the Cherz plateau (m. 2171): the view all around is wonderful up there. Return descending to Campolongo Pass and then to Arabba via trial 638. (about 4.00 hrs, maximum altitude: m 2171 – Difficulty: easy).
